Athlete of the week 7/13-7/20
Emma Perry
Emma Perry is a graduating senior who plays basketball out of Liberty North. Emma started in just late March but since then, she has become one of our hardest working athletes in the gym. Emma comes in 4-5 days every single week and has been great with communication on what she wants to improve on. We have seen huge jumps in endurance, strength, and speed in Emma since she joined the gym. Emma is well known for leaving the gym and going straight to the courts and shooting for hours. On the court, Emma is a walking bucket and has had an illustrious high school career where she was less than 50 points off of the 1000-point mark in her time at Liberty North. We can’t wait to see all the great things Emma will accomplish at the next level as she will attend Southern Baptist University to play basketball. We believe someone with her work ethic and drive will continue to leave a great legacy wherever life takes her.
Molly Spence
Molly Spence is an incoming Sophomore and is a softball and track athlete from Platte County, Missouri. Molly and her brother Ben have been coming to our gym since she was in 5th grade and was one of our first clients. Molly has made huge strides coming in 5 times a week even though she must travel 30 minutes to get to the gym. In Molly’s freshman year she dominated on all the l lower levels of competition, (Jv and Freshman) forcing Platte County to bump the second baseman up to varsity by the end of the year. Molly in the gym has made huge strides since the beginning as well, when Molly first started, she was deadlifting 80 pounds as her max and now Molly is at 265 pounds. Her front squat has gone up 75 pounds in just the last 8 months as well. Molly is a huge example of what consistency and hard work will do for everyone in our program no matter your stature. We believe Molly will be a name the whole metro softball community will have to pay attention to for the next 3 years in Platte County's lineup.
Ro Bray
Ro Bray is an incoming freshman who plays basketball, football and runs track for Liberty North high school. In a time where everyone wants to be the flashy receiver, pretty-boy quarterback, or hard-hitting running back Ro prefers to stick to doing the dirty work as a defensive back. That perfectly describes him as a person as well. Ro may not look like someone who can get after it in the gym but, that is so far from the truth. For instance, just the other day he hit 315 for 4 on deadlift as just a graduated 8th grader. When he started his deadlift was only 135. His vertical has been another example of his hard work. When he started just around a year ago, he was at 20 inches and now he is competing with a lot of our older guys at almost 30 inches. We are so excited to see what he will turn out to be if he continues to stick with the program throughout high school.
